Dr. Goldwasser grew up in Southern California. He received his Bachelors Degree from the University of California and his Medical Degree from Tulane University in 1994. He completed residency training in OB/GYN at the University of Tennessee and his fellowship training in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati. He then moved to Jacksonville in 2000 as Chief of Urogynecology at the University of Florida before starting private practice in 2006. During his career he has been involved in several scholarly publications and holds two provisional patents in the field of reconstructive surgery. He continues to train physicians and participate as an expert advisor to the medical industry in the development of surgical techniques and devices.
As part of his ongoing commitment to patient care he and a colleague from the University of Florida maintain an ongoing database to track the success of reconstructive procedures particularly focusing on the use of synthetic mesh grafts. Their database is one of the largest in the country with over 300 patients and a success rate of 94 to 96%.
